European Schoolnet (legal name: EUN Partnership aisbl, hereinafter “European Schoolnet”), the coordinator of the Teach Europe project funded until 30 September 2025 through the European Union’s Erasmus+ Programme, Jean Monnet Actions (Grant agreement N. 101085351), maintains this public portal at www.teacheurope.eun.org
The portal aims to inform the public including youth, teachers, researchers, industry, public authorities, associations, NGOs and other stakeholders who are interested in Teach Europe actions and its materials, and in the teaching about the European Union at school and in the promotion of active citizenship.

European Schoolnet takes the protection of your privacy seriously. We exclusively collect, store, and retain the personal data of our website users to provide the best possible service and treat this data with the utmost care. This Privacy Notice is subject to EU Regulation 2016/679 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data (hereinafter called “GDPR”). European Schoolnet is responsible (as the "data controller") for processing your personal data as explained in this Privacy Notice.

When you use this website, communicate with us via phone, e-mail, or any other digital communication channel, register for events/campaigns published on the website, participate in courses posted on the website we will collect and use your personal data to:

To achieve the above-mentioned purposes, we process the following personal data in the following circumstances:
a. Website visits: As a general policy, you are not required to disclose your personal data as a condition for using this website. No basic identity information, such as your name, address, or email address is automatically collected from your visit to the website, however, we may automatically collect personal data such as your IP address which is collected by the webserver in access logs in order to allow us to intercept and block requests coming from suspicious network segments as further detailed under point e below.
b. Contacting us: We collect personal data such as your name, email address, postal address, phone number, professional title, organisation name, and any other personal data you choose to share when you communicate with us via email, Teach Europe’s social media accounts, or phone. If you choose to contact us directly, we will only use the personal data you have provided to us, for the purposes of responding to your message or managing your requests.
c. Registration for events/campaigns: The website may advertise various events, campaigns and activities which are organized by European Schoolnet and may indicate where you can register for these. These events, campaigns and activities will have their own privacy statement detailed in the registration form concerned. The types of personal data that will be collected from the events, campaigns and activities promoted on the website are described in the respective privacy statements.
We use a third-party service provider (as the ''data processor'') EU Survey to organise event registration (mainly face to face events). The processing of your personal data for the purposes of registering to an event will be subject to the privacy statement of each event as well as to the terms and conditions of Microsoft privacy policy. EU Survey ensures your data will not be transferred outside the EU. We also use a third-party service provider (as the ‘’data processor’’), Microsoft Teams, to organise our online events. MS Teams is a feature of Microsoft 365. The processing of your personal data for the purposes of participating in our online events will be subject to the privacy statement of each event as well as to the terms and conditions of https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/teams-privacy.
d. Information collected by automated means: So as to understand how visitors use and engage with the website, we collect information anonymously and report website trends without identifying individual visitors through the use of MailerLite (web analytics software). MailerLite is a web analytics software installed on European Schoolnet servers to ensure a visitor’s online behaviour is not shared with advertising companies or other third parties. Some parts of this website use the services of video hosting platforms (e.g. YouTube) to present embedded content. 4. WHO DO WE SHARE YOUR DATA WITH?
Access to the full personal data is strictly limited to European Schoolnet designated staff. We do not sell your personal data to third parties. Apart from the third-party service providers covered by this Privacy Notice, no third parties will receive your data, unless this is explicitly disclosed to you in advance in a separate privacy policy or unless we are required to do so by the granting authority or by law, e.g., in the framework of a judicial enquiry or at the request of the competent legal authorities.
The third-party service providers indicated in this Notice process your personal data only on behalf of European Schoolnet. When we use a third-party service provider, we only disclose to them any personal data that is necessary for them to provide their services.
European Schoolnet may punctually use contractors (e.g. consultants or experts) to support with tasks related to the optimisation and functioning of the Teach Europe website. Such data processors are contractually bound to process personal data on behalf of and in line with the instructions of European Schoolnet and to keep confidential any data they process and protect it from unauthorised access, use and retention. They are given access to the personal data on a ''need to know principle''.
5. DATA TRANSFERS
Your personal data may be transferred to and stored at a destination outside the European Union (‘’EU’’)/European Economic Area (‘’EEA’’) in which the third-party service providers specified in this Privacy Notice are located or have servers.
Your personal data may also be accessible to parties outside the EU/EEA via Teach Europe social media pages and via video hosting platforms when videos are embedded in this website. An exception might also be where you are located outside the EU/ EEA, and we need to follow-up with you regarding a query. Apart from the above-mentioned circumstances, your personal data are not sent outside the EU/EEA by us.
6. THE LEGAL BASIS OF DATA PROCESSING
In terms of personal data processing activities for the purpose of facilitating communication between you and us, we rely on our legitimate interest to be able to respond to requests, questions, or remarks when you contact us via social media, phone, or e-mail.
In terms of personal data processing activities for the purpose of improving the website’s content and the overall experience, we rely on our own legitimate interest in providing an interesting online space to our visitors.
In terms of personal data processing activities for the purposes of detecting and preventing malware, illegal content, and other types of misuse, we rely on our legitimate interest to keep our online presence safe.
When you register for any event/campaign promoted on this website, and participate in surveys/targeted consultations through this website, your consent serves as the legal basis for our processing of your personal data.

7. HOW LONG DO WE STORE YOUR DATA?
Your personal data are only processed for as long as needed to achieve the purposes which are described above. As a general rule, we will de-identify your personal data when these are no longer necessary for the purposes outlined above or when the retention period as explained in this section has expired.
All personal data we collect through our interactions with you via the website, phone, and email will be kept for as long as required to communicate with you, but also to keep an historical archive of our communications.
For our events/campaigns and surveys/targeted consultations the period of retention will be indicated in the separate privacy policy for the processing activity concerned.

Beyond these periods, your data won’t be retained except in an anonymised form.
8. WHAT ARE YOUR DATA PROTECTION RIGHTS?
European Schoolnet would like to make sure you are fully aware of all your data protection rights. Every website user is entitled to the following:

Your request should be dated and signed and should clearly state and specify which right you wish to exercise. We will notify you as soon as reasonably possible and at the latest thirty (30) days after having received the request. Please note that whenever you wish to exercise a right, we may ask you to provide proof of identity.
9. DATA SECURITY
We have put in place appropriate technical and security measures to protect the premises, systems, applications and databases where your personal data is stored against accidental loss, alteration, disclosure or use or access in an unauthorised way. We process only the personal data required for achieving the purposes we have communicated to you, and we restrict access to your personal data to European Schoolnet’s designated staff and specified third parties with a business need to know.
We have also put in place procedures to deal with any suspected personal data breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a breach where we are legally required to do so.

The Teach Europe website contains links to other websites, including links to the official websites of the national helpline institutions with which the Teach Europe project collaborates. This Privacy Notice applies only to this website, so if you click on a link to another website, you should read their privacy policy.
As a visitor of the site, you may decide to view videos or content embedded on our website but located on social media or video hosting platforms. You may also decide to follow links or icons from our website to external contents or locations (e.g. Facebook, X). Clicking on those links may allow third parties to collect or share data about you.
